Biography | Anne Alley (1850-1925) led a quiet life as a member of an established professional family in Charlottetown. Her father Thomas Alley (1820-1900) was an architect, her brother George Alley (1844-1899) was a well-known judge, and her nephew Gordon was a prominent physician. The natural beauty of her native province of Prince Edward Island inspired her painting and poetry, some of which appeared in the local newspaper, THE EVENING PATRIOT. Her single volume, LEAFLETS OF VERSE (1923), was published near the end of her life. |
