UFAWU [United Fishermen and Allied Workers Union] demonstration against reciprocal salmon treaty (Fisheries Service)
Description
Some 200 fishermen, many of them members of the United Fishermen and Allied Workers Union, demonstrate outside the offices of the Fisheries Service in Vancouver, calling on the federal government to drop its current proposals and draft a new Canada-US salmon treaty that recognizes the equity principle — the right of countries to harvest fish in proportion to the production in salmon from their rivers.
