Choi Mushroom Farm Ltd and Canadian Farmworkers Union Local No.1 - Cancellation of Certification - Labour Relations Board of British Columbia Decision

Description: CFU won a certification vote of Choi Mushroom Farm Ltd on December 28, 1983. The units was de-certified on July 16, 1985 due to an employer led vote. The CFU never achieved a first contract at the farm during two years of negotiating. During this time the employer fired many CFU members and was eventually found by the provincial BC LRB to have unjustly fired these workers. Mr. Choi is a Korean mushroom grower who hired some of his relatives. This complaint concerns the firing of CFU members at the farm.
