Jury Raps Farmworkers' Living Conditions

Description: CFU draft press release: On July 16, 1980, in a Matsqui, BC, a seven month old baby girl, Sukhdeep Madhar, drowned in a bucket of water in a horse stall for a cabin. An inquest took place over this tragic incident. The coroner's jury recommended that "the living conditions of farmworkers be investigated and upgraded so an incident of this nature is less likely to happen in the future".
