Description: The frontal pole shown standing in the Fox Warren Estate in England. It was erected here in 1884. The pole was returned to the National Museum of Canada in 1977. To protect it from the weather it had been coated with a thick layer of tar. Once cleaned and restored it promised to be in very good condition.

The Kiksadi Chief had said the women disgraced themselves, by marrying beneath them

Description: Various totem poles. Hydaburg was established in 1911 by Haida people from three villages. In the 1930s, the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) created Hydaburg Park, and several other similar parks in Southeast Alaska. CCC workers brought poles to these parks from other locations. The government then hired local Haida workers to restore these totems. When restoration was not possible, replicas were carved.
