As anticipated in the 1998 report of the working group, the financial situation has been very weak, and many of the planned activities for the year were not done. Nevertheless, the working group has achieved good progress in several areas and looks forward to an active programme for the rest of the second phase of CCICED. New sources of funding have been identified, and the group is confident that adequate funding will be realized to complete our 5-year programme.
