This task force report examines the status and prospects of the development and utilization of coal resources in China and presents research findings on China's status and prospects of coal exploitation and utilization, contraints of sustainable coal development and utilization and strategies and countermeasures for sustainable coal utilization. It provides recommendations on strategies and countermeasures for sustainable coal use.

This report reviews China's major environmental and development policies introduced in the past year (2011-2012) as well as major policy recommendations on environmental & development policy processes. The aim is to inform CCICED members on best suited policies so as to facilitate appropriate adjustments to future policy recommendations.
