The article, by Vancouver Sath members, first gives a brief history of the Indo-Canadian community's struggles in BC. The role played by Darshan Singh in the IWA during the 1940s. A description of the contemporary situation and the formation of the CFU in early 1980. The changes in the legislature for the farmworkers and the effects of this struggle on the community and the literature and arts.

Vancouver Sath's play 'Picket Line' based on the Hoss Farm women mushroom workers who joined the CFU and fought to improve working conditions. Toured Lower Mainland and Fraser Valley, BC.

On March 20, 1981, ten workers at Country Farm Natural Foods reject the employers offer. Nineteen days later on April 8 the first CFU strike begins. This short report of the picket line at Richmond's Country Farm, include the only known pictures of UFW president Cesar Chavez joining the picket line and accompanied by Raj Chouhan and others.

Article titled 'Farmworkers of BC' describes the exploitation of farmworkers by the labour contractors, who mainly come from the Indo-Canadian Punjabi community like the workers themselves. It also describes the attitude of the government towards these workers. The article introduces and praises the Farm Workers Organizing Committee, which was formed two months before the article was written. The article is written by the editor of the Watno Dur magazine Sadhu Binning.

A report or thesis concerning health and safety language in the first CFU collective agreement. Farm workers in the province of BC were excluded from coverage under the Workers' Compensation Act and Bell Farms and CFU contract language was the first time health and safety rights were gained by BC farm workers. This report evaluates the health and safety clauses of the collective agreement.

Sadhu Binning shares his reflections on the tenth anniversary of the Vancouver Sath Literary and Cultural Association --the punjabi writers group and community activists who produced several theatre plays that performed at CFU events in the Fraser Valley, BC. Several members worked as CFU organizers and many Vancouver Sath members were regular CFU volunteers. Also, poem 'Going Home' by Phinder Dulai.

An excerpt from the first issue of Ankur (A New Beginning) published by the Ankur Collective (similar to members of Vancouver Sath, including Sadhu Binning, Sukhwant Hundal and Harji Sangra --both Sukhwant and Harji are former CFU organizers). The magazine editorial explains one of the reasons for this new journal, 'for many Indo-Canadian writers has been a marginalization of their work by the mainstream media.' The cultural and literary collective that performed plays about the farmworkers struggle in the Lower Mainland and Fraser Valley . Sadhu is also an editor of 'Watno Dur' an Indo-Canadian punjabi cultural magazine.
