The Working Group reviewed and discussed the two major research projects that had been undertaken since the last Council meeting. The Working Group developed its work plan for the next three years. Final decisions on the Working Group's future plan, its report to the Council and details of the next meeting were also discussed.

While we were considering our work plan for the second stage of the Working Group on Pollution Control, we reviewed the achievements made during the first stage. We also reviewed the suggestions proposed for Chinese government and the requirement set for the second stage work from the fifth meeting of the Council.
