Gwayasdums village is a small community located on Gilford Island. The village is the traditional home of the Kwikwasut'inuxw people, though throughout the historic era a number of groups have used the site as a winter village. Human figures at the top of totems. The original totem poles were carved many years ago at a site on nearby Tuxekan Island where a large Tlingit settlement once existed. Later, around the 1930s, copies of those totems were re-carved by unemployed master boat builders in Klawock through the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC), a public work relief program.

Painted sea lion hide armour from the Lord Bossom Collection. Sleeveless with fringe on right side, enclosure with toggles. Painted formline crest on front is either an orca or whale design. Denoted in the abstract depiction of offspring bearing, typical of marine mammals. Possibly of Tsimshian origin.

Armour fabricated from sea mammal hide. Age and discolouration make it difficult to discern. This piece of armour is unusual in the design, donning a collar.

Handle carved in the likeness of an otter, seal or sea lion.

Helmet fashioned in the shape of a bear or possibly a sea lions head. Only the mouth is pronounced with further detailed carving and red paint.

Museum display of Tlingit headgear. The war helmet's design is intricately carved, inlaid with abalone in the eyes and operculum in the mouth and adorned with sea lion whiskers behind the ears.
