This annual report discusses the progress China has made in environment and development in 2012, including deepening ecological civilization construction, environmental problems and China's work priorities for 2013.

This Executive Report of the CCICED Task Force on Environmental Protection and Social Development examines the critical linkages between the environment and social development in China. It suggests a preliminary framework to guide policy and practice in both the short and long term, as well as providing some specific policies for implementation and areas for further study.

This Issues Paper tackles the overarching 2013 CCICED AGM theme, Environment and Society. The paper discusses issues such as China's Ecological Civilization, Green Development and Environmental Protection, and social factors effecting transformative environment and development shifts. It also discusses opportunities for strengthening links between China social development and Ecological Civilization, green development and environmental protection.

This report discusses five policy recommendations on the overarching theme, Environment and Society for Green Development. Recommendations include increased institutional innovation and implementation of Ecological Civilization, a change in consumption patterns, promoting corporate environmental and social responsibility, promoting the role of media and public participation, and prioritizing and exploring paths to green urbanization that involves urban green transportation.
