Mary and Harry start by talking about the Otsuji family business prior to World War II. They had a hotel and two grocery stores. They would eventually return to Japan for a period of time, and wind up moving to Toronto. They compare the culture of Toronto Japanese community to the Vancouver Japanese community.

Shigetoshi and Dorthy talk about their difficult experience in internment camps, and the hardships they experienced during these years. Shigetoshi primarily discusses his experience in this interview.

Marie speaks briefly about her life as a teacher, and how her experience in internment helped shape this. She discusses other events in her life, such as her as an interpreter.

Mr. Matsushita discusses a photo album and tells stories of his family, Mrs. Matsushita chimes in but is often cut out by Mr. Matsushita. The main themes are the Internment and War period, and the role of racism and discrimination during this period.
