Striking crew signs on Chavez, at Domtar Construction dock, Surrey

Description: Crew members aboard the flag of convenience vessel Chavez, which brought its load of gypsum to the Surrey docks, occupied the ship and posted a sign along the gangway in an effort to get $200,00 in wages owed to them and an International Transport Workers Federation agreement. Local ITWF representatives Tom McGrath and Gerry McCullough were later successful in winning back wages for them.
