The CFU filed a provincial BC LRB complaint that the employer unfairly fired a CFU member. This letter is from the employers lawyers claiming the firing was due to improper work on the job. The issue was settled in the workers favor on July 17, 1981 with back wages. Another agreement between union and employer on June 11, 1982 concerning the same worker.

The CFU did not recommend this negotiated first contract to the workers because of the difference between the grower and union of thirteen cents in the hourly rate in the wage package. On March 20, 1981, ten workers at Country Farm Natural Foods reject the employers offer. Nineteen days later on April 8 the first CFU strike begins.

A short memo that the provincial BC LRB decision awarding $40,000 to fired CFU members, who worked at Choi Mushroom Farm, was finally distributed to the workers before Christmas 1987, almost four and a half years after being fired.
