[Letterhead: Christian Community of Universal Brotherhood. Doukhobors in Canada] January 5, 1910 V[illage] Otradnoe A letter from Peter Verigin To all brothers and sisters. I suggest to you, from the very day you receive this letter to start feeding horses with straw and stop feeding them oats. Not a single grain. During the night put them in the stable and feed them hay. Do not use horses for any work except bringing small amount of wheat to a mill. Stop using them for firewood hauling. If you want to bring a horse for horseshoeing, you should not mount it. Do not use horses for any work, except to a mill. Do not buy any new horses. If somewhere there is lack of horses for the coming summer, we will redistribute them later. I wish you all the best from Our Lord, Peter
