The nurses also faced a vote on an offer from the employer, the Health Labour Relations Association, on a contract; many nurses opposed the deal although the BCNU bargaining committee recommended acceptance, and president Ken Georgetti of the BC Federation of Labour praised the offer. The BCNU supported the Fed's boycott of the IRC.
