Albert Edward Edenshaw Memorial

In memory of Albert Edward Edenshaw Head Chief of North Island Q.C.I. Born 1822, Died 1894. Member of St. John Church. A staunch friend to the white man. He heroically saved the lives of Capt. Rooney and his crew of the Sch. Susan Sturgis attacked by Indians September 26, 1852 for which he is held in grateful remembrance.
