Shaman's Grave

Central figure is Gou-ghe yah-tee, "drum holder". The drum of the shaman was hung on the outstretched arms. These figures were known as ut nuh teen, "he sees some-thing," and were made for very special occasions (G. T. Emmons, The Tlingit Indians).
