Description

Sonnihat pole and house posts standing along the park trail. The original pole was donated to the people of Alaska in 1901 by Chief Sonnihat as a memorial to his people. The original pole was over 70 years old at the time it was donated. The second generation pole was carved by Native Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) workers in the 1940s.
