Yan Memorials

On the left is a memorial pole with five potlatch cylinders at the top on the head of a shaman wearing a crown of grizzly bear claws. At the base is a grizzly bear holding a human figure upside down in its mouth. On the right, a memorial post also erected after 1881 with a watchman at the top wearing a dance hat with nine potlatch cylinders. A plain shaft intervened, followed by a bear with extended tongue, and at the base a whale.
