Description: Lowering of the mortuary so that it could be transported to Victoria. This mortuary, which originally had a hawk-and-moon front plaque, was fully carved with a large grizzly bear, and above it a killer whale eating a man. The head of the man was upside down, and his arms emerged from the bear's ears.The people on the right are Bill Reid and Wilson Duff, 1925-1976.

Description: On the left is a mortuary that was originally fluted in the section directly below the frontal plaque. Weathering has softened the appearance of this detailing. On the right, a two-finned killer whale mortuary that has lost its frontal plaque and both of the whale flukes. The mortuary is very similar to another pole further down the row, except that pole has only one fin and did not have a figure below the whale.
