Description

Sign outside the Lutheran Campus Centre at UBC, where students had launched their own hunger strike in solidarity with the hunger strike in Chile demanding information about the disappeared. The strikes were ended September 12, after ten days when the Pinochet regime agreed to release the bodies of those found murdered at the abandoned mine shaft at Lonquen, Chile. The discovery of the mass grave at Lonquen was the subject of Isabel Allende's novel Of Love and Shadows.
