Fletcher-Challenge loggers' protest, Nov 25

IWA Canada members demonstrate outside the offices of Fletcher-Challenge in downtown Vancouver. They hit the forestry giant for wasting wood -- the company had been fined by the provincial government -- and for the export of raw logs. Several of the demonstrators had been laid off and the union demanded the company either live up to a promise to provide secure employment for woodworkers or lose its allocation under the Tree Farm License system. Raw log imports have only increased since then.
