Description
Trade unionists, environmentalists, health professionals and others demonstrated against uranium mining as the Social Credit government voted not to renew the moratorium on uranium mining in B.C. imposed in 1980 during the Bates Inquiry into the industry. The moratorium was officially re-imposed in 2008 when the government stated that uranium would be excluded from any mineral tenures registered in the province.
