Slade, Stewart pickets

Two picketers, unnamed for safety reasons, stand vigil at the former site of Slade and Stewart warehouse on Prior Street in Vancouver two years after the company first closed its doors rather than settle a contract dispute without concessions, and then closed the operation, while continuing to operate elsewhere in the province. The previous month, a lone picket, Ron Pankowski, was stabbed to death Dec. 19, 1986 while walking the line outside the plant.
