Why is Canada there?/ Why? With dozens of unenforced U.N. resolutions on the Middle East - on Cyprus and Lebanon, on the West Bank and Gaza - why has this war against Iraq been unleashed? Why now? And why is the Canadian government supporting it?/ Is the U.S., Canada and the allied coalition concerned about the defence of Kuwait? Or is it the destruction of Iraq? By destroying the Iraq, the U.S. government and its allies are signaling to the world that they intend to maintain control of Arab oil./ Is this George Bush's New World Order?/ Middle East Peace Action was established to build a broad movement against the war in the Gulf. We call for: - Withdrawing U.S., Canadian, and other Foreign troops - Spending our resources on social needs, not on armaments and war - Convening an international peace conference on the Middle East./ We urge all concerned to attend these forums.
