CCICED 2014 Issues Paper 1: From Tipping Point to Turning Point
This 2014 issue paper discusses China at a crossroads, which provides a tipping or turning point on key environment and development issues and the opportunity it presents. It also outlines how this past year will likely be viewed as one of the most transformative periods of China's policy change, for instance, CCICED's work related to institutional innovation and other changes needed to accelerate movement towards Ecological Civilization and Green Development.
Annex 1: Report on the Task Force Field Trip to Indonesia (20-27 February 2011) by the CCICED Task Force on Investment, Trade and Environment
This summary report outlines the progress made by CCICED stipulated in CCICED Phase V�s mandate. Key progress areas include, the success of the CCICED Rio+20 side event, implementation of CCICED Phase V activities, relevant policy research on the theme of ""Regional Balance and Green Development"", improvements in the operation and management of the Council and dissemination of the achievements of the CCICED primarily through active outreach overseas.
Progress on Environment and Development (2011-2012) and CCICED Policy Recommendations Impact
This report reviews China's major environmental and development policies introduced in the past year (2011-2012) as well as major policy recommendations on environmental & development policy processes. The aim is to inform CCICED members on best suited policies so as to facilitate appropriate adjustments to future policy recommendations.
CCICED 2012 Issues Paper: Regionally Balanced and Green Development
This report analyses the discrepancies in China's regional economic and environmental development in terms of working towards becoming an Ecological Civilization. A new model of development is suggested, one that is 'greener' and places more emphasis on domestic consumption. As CCICED enters Phase V of its work (2012-2016), this report emphasizes the need to balance regional development and design differentiated regulations and incentive systems that are both fair and workable.
Environmental Strategy and Measure for Transformation of Development Mode in Eastern China
This report reviews economic development in Eastern China as to its successes and shortcomings of existing policy approaches to balancing economic development and environmental quality. It also provides some policy recommendations for facilitating economic restructuring and green development.
Policy Recommendations from 2012 AGM,CCICED Policy Recommendations
This report highlights existing imbalances in regional benefit distribution and a lack of policy coordination in relation to population, economy, resources and the environment in China. Policy Recommendations to the Government of China: CCICED 2013 Annual General Meeting
This report discusses five policy recommendations on the overarching theme, Environment and Society for Green Development. Recommendations include increased institutional innovation and implementation of Ecological Civilization, a change in consumption patterns, promoting corporate environmental and social responsibility, promoting the role of media and public participation, and prioritizing and exploring paths to green urbanization that involves urban green transportation.
