This work report covers the projects of the Working Group on Environmental Economics as follows: green taxation, environmental accounting, economic instruments for Industrial Pollution Control in China, sustainable agriculture, biodiversity, and fisheries.

The objective of this report is to provide an overall framework for strategic transformation of the environment-development relationship in China.

The CCICED Task Force on Environmental Governance assembled a group of environmental policy experts and academics from China, Germany, the Netherlands, Japan, and the United States to examine means for developing more effective environmental governance strategies for China. The Task Force surveyed the status of environmental governance in China and across East Asia, the European Union, Japan, and the United States to form the basis for the recommendations in this report.

The environmental and health problems are of complexity and related to the two factors of environment and health. The environmental and health problem ncludes two sides in the broad and narrow. The latter is a major proportion in this study on the environmental and health problems.

This paper provides a background on China's introduction of the concept of an environment-friendly society, including:Building of an Environment-friendly Society, Environmental Technology Innovation, International Experience, National Innovation System(NIS), Environmental Technology Innovation, and, Overall Strategy and Preliminary Actions.

This report outlines the activities of the Working Group on Environmental Economics, including outcomes of study on green taxation reform in China and other findings.

The CCICED established a multilateral consultation mechanism, which offers a platform for China to widely absorb international experiences in environmental pollution prevention policy, precautionary mechanisms, pollution treatment and environmental management. This report is a summary of the findings.

In response to the problems of natural resource depletion and environmental degradation, the CCICED established a Task Force on Economic Growth and Environment. This report outlines the 3E (Economy-Energy-Environment) model that the Task Force developmed to forecast the trends of economic growth, energy consumption and environmental pollution during the 11th Five Year Development Plan.
