Beaver House Post

The beaver house post of Gitlaxdzawk representing the giant beaver Pelemgwae. This view shows the post after it was taken down and cleaned by Harlan Ingersoll Smith, 1872-1940 while working for the National Museum of Canada. Known as the Peleqwa House post, it belonged to the house of Iyoos. House one on the Gitlaxdzawk map (see Gitlaxdzawk_051).
