Description

Sadie Mowatt shakes a rattle and performs as a shamaness. Miriam Danes and Alice Jefferies are seated in the background. Barlow Green is likely the performer on the ground being cured. The shaman's rattle, seen here, was used to call up power from other worlds. The rattle is round and usually plain. Carvings or decorations make the world of supernatural beings visible.
