Description
Dave Milton, who is th main shaman in this performance conducts a curing ceremony on Barlow Green. Miriam Danes and Alice Jefferies assist him. Among the Tsimshian, a shaman could be a man or a woman endowed with special powers. Healing shamans wear bearskin robes, aprons, and crowns of grizzly-bear claws. They also use a number of aids, including round rattles, skin drums, and charms.
