Description

House-Front-Blackfish pole erected by Hagbegwatu (Arthur McDames). This is another version of a pole from the Lower Village. The full length of the pole is a carving of a Blackfish with its head down. A long fin is attached to the pole with a circular perforation in the middle. In this modern version of the pole, the mythic figure of Gunarhnaesems is on the back of the whale, and is holding on to his dorsal fin.
